Online Marketing Advice From Merseyside Web Design
A customer emailed me the other day asking for online marketing advice:-
“Can you tell me how I can make my website more easily found through Google? I don’t get as many enquiries as I think I should get.”
As this is an obvious concern, I went into some gepth with my reply, so I thought I would share it on my blog. Here is my reply relating to online marketing advice:-
“That is the million dollar question! Myself and a business partner have been doing a lot of research into online marketing and we’re starting a new business in the new year in online marketing.
The fact is that the competition these days is so high on the internet that a lot of work needs to be done in order to rank well on Google etc. Last year, Google changed it’s algorithm which is the formula it applies to rank websites. These changes favour the bigger players and moved away from onsite keywords etc. Basically what Google does now is it looks at your overall web presence, which includes the use of social media, content submission, article writing, blogging, back links from other websites to your website and much more. It then ranks your website due to how active you are in all these areas. This involves a lot of work, but the fact is that with so much competition these days there are still only ten places on the first page of Google.
The good news is that as you are a writer, and you are in a small(isn) ‘niche’, you could capitalise on this by submitting some of your existing content (or new content) around the web, via article directory sites like www.ezinearticles.com and more. These sites then provide the opportunity to put backlinks to your site at the bottom. As these sites are regarded with high authority from Google, this then promotes your site up the rankings.
I have posted a link to a Youtube video (ignore the product they are marketing, but what they say is very relevant) and also a link to a comprehensive 6 month strategy that you could use to possibly dominate your niche if done properly.
Obviously this is a lot of work, and me and my business partner will be offering online marketing advice and managed campaigns to businesses in the new year, i.e. to undertake online marketing campaigns on their behalf. I’m not touting for business as all the info is in the document below, but if you wanted us to look into a campaign for you, just let me know. Unfortunately, this service won’t be cheap due to the sheer amount of work needed for a campaign to be successful, but if done properly the results can be great.
